Speech Pathology & Audiology Degrees
The mission of the Speech Pathology and Audiology Program is: 1) To prepare individuals to implement evidence based practices and provide information regarding communication, swallowing, hearing and balance disorders; 2) conduct research regarding the nature, treatment, and prevention of communication, swallowing, hearing and balance disorders: and 3) provide community service to help those individuals with or likely to develop communication, swallowing, hearing and balance disorders. Overview
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is an affiliate of the National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. The university is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.
The Master of Arts (M.A.) education program in Speech-Language Pathology {residential} and the Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) education program in Audiology {residential} at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø are accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.
All students receiving a graduate degree from our programs and who complete the necessary practicum are eligible for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology from ASHA and qualify for Ohio licensure. Our faculty is distinguished by its numerous clinical and scientific publications, as well as by its current clinical and research involvement.
Ph.D.
The doctoral program offers a highly flexible program of study leading to the Ph.D. degree in Communication Science and Disorders. This flexibility allows students to create a program that meets their needs with emphases ranging from primarily clinical and applied to basic research.
Au.D. Program
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and the University of Akron in affiliation with the Cleveland Clinic offer a joint Au.D. degree program. Applications can be submitted to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, the University of Akron, or both.
Autism Spectrum Disorders Certificate Program

Post Baccalaureate Program- Undergraduate Degrees not in SPA
Students wishing to enter the master's degree program in speech-language pathology who hold a baccalaureate degree in some other profession must first take a series of undergraduate courses in speech pathology and audiology.
