Hi, Drupalites!
We’ve got some updates for you about new elements, some launches and a new way to edit a page’s layout.
We’re Millionaires! (If Nodes Were Dollars)
We've hit a milestone! Node 1,000,000 has been created by Mary Collins, Special Assistant at Ashtabula Campus. In recognition and just for fun, we'll be awarding her a special 3D-printed trophy.
You can see this historic ϳԹ node at www.kent.edu/node/1000000 and join us in celebrating this significant achievement!
Although we are celebrating this, remember - less is more when it comes to website content!
Ribbon Teaser Reimagined
If you use the ribbon teaser on your site, you may have noticed that it was recently modified to give it a facelift and bring it into compliance with our current brand standards. In addition to changing the colors to match the current brand style guide, the buttons and text have been realigned to match the current website aesthetics. Gaze upon its glory and weep!
The Financial, Billing and Enrollment Site Is Live and We Need Your Help
The Financial, Billing and Enrollment Center website, which replaced One Stop, Registrar and Financial Aid websites, launched Sunday, June 2.
To the many Drupalites who have diligently worked to update website links and copy across sites - thank you! Additionally, please scan the Siteimprove reports one more time to see if anything was missed during your first round of edits.
If you have yet not done so, please update your website links and copy accordingly. If you have already updated your pages, please scan the links below for any updates that may have been missed in the first round.
While we deployed redirects to help appropriately route traffic, it is always best to link to the respective node ID (NID). Because we cannot automate copy updates, we need your assistance in revising copy to the new website name.
We continue to run Siteimprove reports to identify pages we know will require updates. Find a second-round of identified link and copy references to these sites here:
- Registrar
- Financial Aid
- One Stop
The Education Abroad Website Launch Is Almost Here!
Education Abroad is projected to launch a brand-new, stand-alone site showcasing study away opportunities on Sunday, June 23.
We are aware that many academic departments link to Education Abroad pages. Please note that these URLs will be changing! Be sure to find your new node IDs so that you can update links accordingly.
Reminders:
- DO NOT LINK to any alias URL, as the URLs you will see at the demo link will change.
- Link ONLY to NIDs and only AFTER WE ANNOUNCE THE LAUNCH.
Please watch for updates announcing the launch so that you can begin your link resets.
The 2024 University Catalog Is Live - Academic Webmasters You May Need to Update Your Website
Although no academic program names changed this year, new programs were created and others were deactivated. If your department was impacted, please remember to update your websites accordingly by adding new API pages or unpublishing irrelevant ones and adjusting your links accordingly.
Curriculum Services has provided us with a .
Remember, all academic program pages must use the Program Content Type to leverage our integration with the catalog to meet U.S. Department of Education requirements.

New Way to Change a Page’s Layout
Previously, to change the layout of a page, you used a dropdown at the bottom of the page’s edit menu. You can still select an initial layout during the page creation process, but once created, you have to use the “Layout” tab and select the “change layout template” button.
Please continue to submit issues you need help resolving to FreshService via the Submit a Ticket button at www.kent.edu/websupport.
