Q. How do I apply for graduation?
You apply for graduation through your Flashline account/Student Tools & courses Tab/Graduation/Commencement – Apply for Graduation.
Deadlines for applying are as follows:
- Associate degree candidates - By the end of the second week of the semester during which you'll complete all requirements.
- Bachelor's degree candidates - December graduation: March 15; May graduation: September 15; August graduation: December 15.
Should the 15th day fall on a weekend, the deadline will be the next business day.
Q. Where do I get my cap and gown?
Cap, gown and tassel will be available for purchase in the bookstore in mid-April. Be sure to try on the cap and gown in the bookstore prior to purchase. These items are not a rental; they will be yours to keep. For further information, contact the bookstore at 330-675-8852, or 330-847-0571, ext. 58852.
Q. Do I have to attend loan exit counseling?
All students who received direct loans must attend loan exit counseling. You will be notified by email regarding exit counseling information. Exit counseling is completed and submitted online.
Q. When will I receive my diploma?
The Office of the University Registrar has partnered with Parchment Inc. to improve the diploma fulfillment process for graduates of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. Your digital diploma will arrive approximately 4-5 weeks after commencement. Watch for an email notification.
- Notification will be sent to your ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø email.
- Follow the link to set up your Parchment Digital credentials account.
- Share and download your digital diploma as many times as you like.
- Paper diplomas will be mailed separately to your permanent address on file 7-10 days after you receive your digital diploma.
Q. How will my name appear on my diploma?
Your name will appear exactly as it does on your university record. Check with the Enrollment Management/Student Services staff if you have any concerns with how your name will appear.
Q. How many graduation ceremonies are held each year?
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Trumbull holds one commencement ceremony each year in May. All Trumbull Campus graduates from the previous summer and fall terms will be recognized along with the spring graduates.
The Kent Campus holds several ceremonies in December, May and August.
