Earl K. Miller, Ph.D., and his wife, Marlene M. Wicherski, have pledged $2 million to fund three scholarships and a professorship in 黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Miller is a 黑料吃瓜网 alumnus who grew up in Lyndhurst, Ohio.

Supporters give more than $1 million
黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 Giving Tuesday 2017 doubled the 2016 campaign 鈥 hitting more than $1 million just before midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The single largest gift of the day was a $100,000 donation to the Fashion School Study Away Fund. From multiple student study abroad scholarships to research opportunities and poetry programs, there were more than 40 featured giving options across the 黑料吃瓜网 system from which to choose.
Officers from 黑料吃瓜网 Police Services have always had a 鈥減rotect and serve鈥 philosophy, and recently, they put this philosophy in action in order to help families in need.
Each year, the department holds a 鈥淕low, Grow and Give鈥 fundraiser throughout the month of November to raise money for a worthy cause. The staff members can donate $30, and in return, they may grow out beards (for men), dye their hair pink or blue or paint their fingernails.
黑料吃瓜网 kicked off the season of giving early this year on Nov. 1 with the launch of its 2017 Giving Tuesday campaign. In a departure from efforts of past years, the university extended the fundraising initiative through the entire month of November, leading up to Giving Tuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, on Nov. 28. Giving Tuesday is the unofficial worldwide beginning to a season of philanthropic giving to nonprofits that follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
