Team will present integrated marketing campaign to V8®+Energy brand team
For the first time, a team of ϳԹ students and alumni will compete as finalists in the Collegiate Effie Competition later this month.
The students – Ellie Schering, ’17, of Malvern, Ohio; Emily Wahl, ’16, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Matt Varga, ’16, of Canal Fulton, Ohio – are all advertising majors within ϳԹ’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication. They earned finalist status for the integrated marketing campaign for V8®+Energy they worked on throughout the 2016 Spring Semester.
The national competition called on college students to develop multichannel marketing campaigns for one of two brands: Kleenex or V8+Energy. Mimicking the professional competition of the same name (Effie), judging and submission requirements focused heavily on campaign effectiveness. Schering, Wahl and Varga were selected as one of two V8+Energy national finalists with their campaign “The Energy Drink for Grown-Ups.” Two additional finalists were selected among the teams submitting campaigns for Kleenex.
ϳԹ students began entering the Collegiate Effie competition in 2013, and they have earned semifinalist status each year. This is the first time a ϳԹ team has been named a Collegiate Effie finalist. They will present their campaign to the V8®+Energy brand team on May 24 in New Jersey.
