Books

Pictured: The IRC has been working to build our collection on educational technology in order to prepare future teachers for the 21st century classroom. We have a couple essential texts on teaching in the digital age as well as books specifically on how to incorporate the SMART Board and Web resources into the classroom. SMART Board lesson books are available in all grades and include topics in math, science, reading, writing, and history, and they contain interactive CDs to get students experiencing the technology hands on. Web and other technology resources include wikis, blogs, podcasts, YouTube, digital photography, apps, and Google Docs.

The IRC is home to a number of books and materials relevant to students within the College of Education, Health, and Human Services. Educational and curriculum materials are available in all subjects and at all grade levels. We also feature several selections on teaching in the 21st century with books on educational technology, social media, and online education. We have a number of text resources for students preparing to take the Praxis Core test, as well as popular materials including children's picture books and young adult fiction such as the Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and Divergent series.

The IRC also provides several special collections:

  • The Consortium for Overseas Student Teaching (COST) collection of books about foreign countries and cultures,
  • The American Sign Language collection
  • NEW! Common Core Collection

Books can be checked out for two weeks at a time with one renewal, and late fees are $.10 a day.
