Scholarships
The Office of Financial Aid understands the financial challenges of pursuing a medical education. With rising costs, a combination of student loans and scholarships will likely play a role in funding your degree.
In January 2024, KSUCPM gained access to SSI (State Share of Instruction) funding from the state of Ohio. This subsidy allows KSUCPM to offer competitive tuition rates for both in-state and out-of-state students, making us the most affordable option for Ohio residents and among the most affordable for out-of-state students. Combined with Cleveland’s desirable cost of living and a strong podiatric medical program, KSUCPM provides excellent value for your education.
We also offer internal merit-based scholarships for incoming and continuing students, awarded based on academic excellence, leadership, and overall involvement. Additionally, the Office of Financial Aid will share external scholarship opportunities as they become available.
Internal Scholarships
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø College of Podiatric Medicine (KSUCPM) supports members of the student population with internal scholarships. Each year, incoming and continuing students are granted over $1,000,000 in internal scholarship awards.
Incoming Merit-Based Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded to outstanding candidates who demonstrate both academic excellence and a passion for podiatric medicine. Given the difference in tuition rates between in-state ($32,095) and out-of-state students ($42,832), accepted students may qualify for scholarships covering 35 to 50 percent of their first-year tuition. To further support academic success, continuing students may also qualify for renewable scholarships based on their academic ranking after their first year of podiatric medical school.

Members of the class of 2027 and 2028 are eligible for a renewable continuing scholarship by maintaining an academic rank in the top 25% of their class. These continuing scholarships range from $10,000 to $25,000.
CLASS OF 2029 AND BEYOND
KSUCPM gained access to SSI (State Share of Instruction) funding from the state of Ohio in January 2024, leading to significant changes in our tuition structure. To reflect these updates, our continuing scholarship matrix has also been revised to offer comparable scholarship opportunities for both in-state and out-of-state students. Beginning with the class of 2029, students will be eligible for renewable continuing scholarships by maintaining an academic rank in the top 25% of their class. These scholarships range from $11,250 to $16,050 for in-state students and $15,000 to $21,450 for out-of-state students, providing ongoing support for academic excellence throughout their education at KSUCPM.
