IN A FLASH: A Flash in the Sky!

Lightning strikes near ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Airport

During a recent storm, three or four bolts of lighting struck behind the hangar at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Airport. It happened as a staff member was rolling up the hose near the gas pump in the foreground of this image.

Michael Gershe, senior advisor II from ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's College of Aeronautics and Engineering, said, "I was standing just outside the door and saw the bolts. Within a half second or less: the big boom of thunder. It was cool and yet scary at the same time." Gershe captured the above image from a monitor showing the feed from one of the airport's security cameras.
