Celebrate Juneteenth Jubilee at ϳԹ June 18, 2024

Juneteenth Jubilee will be held Tuesday June 18 from 11 a.m.– 1:30 p.m. on the Kent Campus, Student Green/Risman Plaza. It is free and open to the public.

Willard Jenkins receives an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from ϳԹ

ϳԹ conferred a Doctor of Letters honorary degree to alumnus Willard Jenkins for his “extraordinary contributions in promulgating jazz music and its importance to American culture and in advancing ϳԹ.”

Cleveland-born celebrity chef Kenny Gilbert is preparing some of his signature classic dishes for students at Eastway Center.

Yvonne Bandy painted the Africa mural in Oscar Ritchie when she was 19 years of age.

 In 1971, alumna Yvonne Bandy, a ϳԹ art and design major, painted two of the murals that now hang in Oscar Ritchie Hall.

Yet, in the nearly two decades that she’s been in her current role, Gullion said women’s history has really been regarded as an emerging field with plenty of research yet to be done.

Omar Salam, founder and creative director of the global fashion house SUKEINA, will be making a special trip from the runway to ϳԹ’s Rockwell Hall as Salam has been named the 2023 inductee of the university’s School of Fashion Hall of Fame.
