Matt Stefanak, MPH

Matthew Stefanak is an instructor and Public Health Ambassador for the College of Public Health at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and the Public Health Preparedness Liaison for the Association of Ohio Health Commissioners. He served as Health Commissioner of the General Health District in Mahoning County, Ohio from 1988 until his retirement in 2012. He also served as a U.S. Navy Reserve Officer for more than 30 years. Stefanak received his Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University and is an alumnus of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Ohio Public Health Leadership Institutes. He has been a mentor to many of today’s local public health leaders, both informally and through leadership development programs like NACCHO’s Survive and Thrive.
