Kathy Bergh Recognized by University Teaching Council

A senior lecturer in the Human Development and Family Science program, Kathy Bergh received the Faculty Recognition Award by the University Teaching Council.

Kathy Bergh joined the faculty of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø in 2000 as an adjunct faculty member. In addition to serving as a non-tenure track senior lecturer, she currently serves as the program director for the minor in Nonprofit Studies.

An anonymous student wrote the following about Kathy:

"Professor Bergh sincerely and seriously cares about her students. She is a kind soul who wants what's best for us and is a great listener if you are ever having a bad day. She inspired me to reach outside of my comfort zone and without that push I don't think I would have gotten where I am today. I am so grateful I had the pleasure of meeting her, and if she's reading this, Thank you for showing me compassion and kindness. I went through a lot these past two years and you were the only professor who reached back out to me to check in and see if I was ok. That simple gesture meant the world to me. I will miss your classes the most."

Students are encouraged to nominate instructors for an Instructor Recognition Award. These awards are an opportunity to highlight all ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø instructors who have motivated, engaged, and inspired their students. Nominees will receive a certificate of recognition at the annual UTC Conference.
