Shabnam Moini Chaghervand
Biography
I am a Persian woman who was born in Italy, raised in Iran, and lived in both Europe and the United States. These early experiences have shaped my identity and helped me grow as a scholar who values working with people from diverse backgrounds. Presently, I am a doctoral candidate (ABD) in the School of Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum Studies at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. My teaching philosophy supports inquiry-based teaching and learning across the curriculum in which students’ questioning, reasoning, and understanding are at the heart of instruction. My philosophy views teaching not simply as an act but also as an art. Teaching for me includes incorporating multiple instructional strategies to make complex concepts interesting, understandable, and meaningful for all students. My teaching philosophy supports all students’ needs regardless of their grade level, background, culture, or language. It is my ultimate goal to create a safe educational environment and develop curriculum that will engage and support all learners. Students are individuals who differ in multiple ways; therefore, I am committed to employing multiple instructional strategies to reach all students’ diverse needs.
