The 2023 Special Olympics of Ohio Summer Games took place June 23 - 25, and this year, KSUCPM students and faculty were onsite proudly serving the community and representing the state’s only podiatric medical school.
Dr. Rachel Johnson, Associate Professor in the Division of Clinical Sciences, led several student volunteers ranging from 2nd to 4th years to The Ohio State University where they performed 250 foot screenings. Dr. Johnson volunteered her time as the Fit Feet Clinical Director for Ohio, a position that hasn’t been filled in many years. The students worked with Dr. Johnson for over eight hours, seeing a high volume of patients ranging from children to adults of all ages.
